Role Reversal: One Attorney's Tempestuous Voyage as a Client
Regan Zambri & Long trial lawyers Patrick M. Regan, Thanos Basdekis & Lisa D. Barnett represented Michael Caglioti in connection with his legal claims for catastrophic injuries suffered when his motorized wheelchair malfunctioned. Mr. Caglioti, who at the time of the wheelchair malfunction was a partner in the international law firm of Arnold & Porter, had been initially represented by two other law firms, both of whom provided terrible representation. Mr. Caglioti, assisted by the lawyers at his firm, then proceeded to interview a number of attorneys and retained Mr. Regan and the Regan Zambri & Long law firm to pursue his claims. After Mr. Caglioti's product liability case was successfully settled before trial, he wrote the following article describing his "voyage as a client." Mr. Caglioti's article appeared in the January 2005 issue of Washington Lawyer, the journal of the District of Columbia Bar, as well as in the June 2005 issue of TRIAL, the journal of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
